His Journey
Fergal’s connection with Morgan Fuels began before he officially joined the team.
“I previously worked with a firm that subcontracted with Morgan Fuels, which gave me the opportunity to collaborate with the team for approximately 18 months before joining directly in November 2024.”
Starting out as a driver, Fergal quickly demonstrated his capability and commitment, progressing within the business in a short period of time.
“Initially hired as a driver, I progressed to the role of Transport and Compliance Manager.”
His journey is a great example of how Morgan Fuels supports growth and recognises potential within its team.
A Day in the Role
No two days are ever quite the same for Fergal. His role combines organisation, responsibility, and time on the road.
“A typical day starts early with checking my route, making sure the truck is ready, and loading up for the day ahead. From there, I’m out delivering fuel to homes, farms, and businesses, making sure customers get what they need safely and on time.”
It’s the variety that keeps things interesting.
“I enjoy being out on the road, meeting both new and regular customers, and travelling to different parts of the country each day — every route brings something different.”

Fergal recalls one delivery that stood out:
“I met a lady and her young son who has additional needs and a real love for lorries. Seeing how excited he was, I asked if he’d like to sit in the cab.”
The reaction made the day unforgettable.
“His reaction was brilliant. At one point, he even tried to lock me out so he could stay in the lorry, and I eventually had to bribe him out with a crème egg!”
Moments like this are a reminder of the difference simple gestures can make.
About Fergal
Outside of work, Fergal enjoys keeping life balanced.
“I like spending time with family and friends, and I’m a big football fan, heading along to matches is a great way to switch off after a busy week.”
He’s also someone who enjoys learning and developing new skills.
“I’m quite hands-on and enjoy learning how things work. I like picking up new skills, taking on new responsibilities, and helping others where possible.”
Final Thoughts
For Fergal, it’s the opportunity to grow and the support from the team that have made all the difference.
“What’s kept me at Morgan Fuels is the opportunity to grow within the company. Hugh and Michael are great at recognising people’s strengths and encouraging them to progress, they really push people to move up the ladder and develop their skills.”
Support across the business has also been key to his journey.
“Celene, our Office Manager, has been a huge help and support to me along the way, always there to assist and keep everything running smoothly.”
While much of his role is independent, he knows he’s never on his own.
“I enjoy the independence of being out on the road, it’s like being your own boss, but I know I’ve always got strong support behind me. There’s a real team environment here.”
